Triumph Motorcycles and Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) collaborate on the development of a high-performance electric motorcycle, in the form of the Triumph TE-1 prototype.
As for the Triumph TE-1 prototype, after being realized, it will continue to be in the development stage on the roads and circuits of the Triumph facility for the next six months. Claimed to be a sport genre motorbike with a lighter battery than other products that were specially developed by WAE.
He emphasized that even though the TE-1 prototype has high performance, it prioritizes the efficiency of using electric power and of course the mileage is a consideration. WAE whispers that the cell and battery module specifications are the most advanced ever created.
Although the battery dominates the entire center frame space, the TE-1 prototype still provides the best control with calculated weight distribution. Likewise for charging the 15 kWh battery, the time is made faster. 0-80% takes only 20 minutes with a 360 volt source.
The peak power of the battery is 170 kW or the equivalent of 228 hp and when asked to drive consistently, it provides 90 kW or the equivalent of 120 hp.
The TE-1 prototype was made as part of the Automotive Council 2025 decree, this electric motorcycle will become a benchmark for how high-performance electric motors should be.
Triumph is still hiding the specs of the TE-1, as the bike is still in testing. Triumph CEO Nick Bloor, stated that this collaboration is the best collaboration from a British company.
“Can’t wait to continue the ambitious and innovative work of the TE-1 by doing actual testing and sharing with loyal fans around the world,” Bloor said.
Dyrr Ardash, Head of Strategic Partnerships, Williams Advanced Engineering, added that the test will take place in the next six months, but he admits that he has been amazed by the appearance of the bike.
“Working with the team at Triumph, we continue to push the limits of battery technology, keeping riders on the line,” said Ardash. “Moreover, we developed the battery from scratch, the design is more different and can maximize the applied potential of the technology, provide performance and most importantly, mileage,” he added.
